This book represents the result of a study that allowed, through its findings, to characterize the green areas of the Colon Regional University Center by describing its biological components, mainly the floristic aspects, directing efforts to contribute to its assessment from ecological, social, cultural, educational perspectives, among others, making a comprehensive review and how to result in the benefit of the institution and the Colon community. This text offers valuable information for courses that address issues on the environment, values, environmental culture, environmental education, as a cross-cutting axis and as a strategy for the conservation of natural resources, the protection of the environment and the prevention of adverse events through communication, training and research.
