Synopsis

This book analyzes information security in the context of digital transformation, establishing that the protection of digital assets is an essential strategic and cultural pillar for organizational success. Based on a descriptive and analytical methodology supported by an exhaustive review of academic literature, the work addresses everything from the fundamentals and historical evolution of security to the analysis of current technologies and threats such as steganography. It emphasizes that, despite the relevance of security technologies, the human factor remains the most vulnerable link, and highlights graphic design as a key tool for converting passive awareness into an active process through gamification and visual communication. In addition, the Panamanian regulatory framework is evaluated, pointing out important advances and challenges in regulation, supervision, and public-private cooperation, with the need to strengthen capacities and update data to improve early detection of threats through artificial intelligence and big data. It concludes that success in information security depends on the strategic integration of technology, design, and education, together with the commitment of leaders and users to consolidate a robust organizational culture that guarantees the comprehensive protection of digital assets and sustainable development in Panama and globally.
