Synopsis

Public Relations (PR) currently face the challenge of consolidating their conceptual foundations and adapting them to the dynamic demands of the global corporate and academic environments. With the objective of systematically summarizing the theoretical fundamentals, key methodologies, and practical applications of the discipline, this work is structured as a technical and pedagogical reference text contextualized for academic training and professional practice in Panama. Methodologically, the book is based on rigorous documentary and bibliographic research involving the collection, updating, and comparative analysis of scientific literature, pedagogical manuals, and current institutional regulations. Through this approach, the content is consecutively organized into five major thematic blocks: Principles of PR I, Principles of PR II, Oral Expression and Personal Image, Protocol, and Organizational Communication. As the main conceptual results, the chapters systematize the historical and systemic evolution of PR by distinguishing it from other communication disciplines, the strategic management of publics and communication departments, the technical development of verbal and non-verbal messages, the application of precedence rules and institutional protocol, and the theories of change within organizational culture flows. In conclusion, the findings demonstrate that PR operates as an open, complex, and reciprocal system essential for corporate reputation, where success lies in strategic, two-way communication. This compendium successfully unifies global theory with the actual needs of the Panamanian market, establishing itself as an indispensable tool for university classrooms and the professional sector.
